What is a Password Generator?
A password generator is a tool that creates random, unpredictable passwords on demand. Unlike human-chosen passwords — which tend to follow predictable patterns like names, dates, or keyboard walks — computer-generated passwords draw from large character sets using cryptographically secure algorithms, making them virtually impossible to guess or brute-force.
KeyVault generates passwords with the Web Crypto API and analyzes strength locally with zxcvbn. Passwords are kept only for the current page session. If you explicitly run a breach check, only the first five characters of a SHA-1 hash are sent to the HIBP range API.

Passwords are generated using crypto.getRandomValues() — the same cryptographic API browsers use for TLS. Not Math.random().
Local generation

Strength scoring runs entirely in-browser via the zxcvbn library. Your password is never sent to any API for analysis.
